What's Your Excuse?

The Nice Life Inspirational Quotation:  "The control of self means the control of everything."  Hazrat Inayat Khan

Until you're able to control yourself — aka your thoughts, your emotions, your actions, you're simply a REACTOR.  The world (via other people, outside circumstances, the weather, etc.) is what's really in charge of your life.  You're not in control of your life experience — you're simply choosing to REACT to what's going on outside of you.

One of the secrets to a Nice Life is to become a CREATOR.  "Made in the image and likeness of God", simply means we've been given the same CREATIVE abilities as the Original Creator.  Using our Conscious Thoughts, we can shape the way our Reality plays out.  It's like being, not only the ACTOR in the movie of your life, but also the DIRECTOR.

ALL humans play the lead Actor in the movie of their life, but only a small percentage have mastered the role of Director.

Simply being the Actor in the movie of your life means you're living unconsciously — you still haven't "Awakened."  If compared to the movie The Matrix, it's like you're still stuck in your "pod" ... still living in The Dreamworld ... giving your Creative Power away to those more aware than you.

Once you decide to "wake up" (or are shaken awake by another awakened individual), you step into the "Real World".  You now realize your own Creative Power, and understand that YOU are responsible (via your decisions) for the quality of your life.  This can be quite scary at first, and some people choose to fall back asleep.

It's much easier to blame everyone else for the quality of your life.

Which brings me to Dan Caro.  Dan was involved in a freak accidental explosion when he was two years old.  After unwrapping the bandages after months in the hospital, his hands and feet just fell off.

Dan told his story on Dr. Wayne Dyer's new PBS lecture, entitled "Excuses Begone".  Be sure to check your local listings for show times.  They'll likely be replaying it on your local Public Television station for the next month — about every other day.

Anyhow, Dan described the challenges he faced as a kid, while growing up with burn scars all over his face and body — not to mention having no hands (and just a thumb on his left side).  He discussed the absolute rush of freedom and empowerment as he tied his shoe by himself for the first time — at the age of 12 (I think).

He said that after he accomplished this incredible task (that we take for granted), he felt he could do anything!

So what did he do next?  Learned to play the drums.  The only video I could find is below, however, you can see him play (and speak) on Dr. Dyer's PBS special. He actually uses a wrist band with rubber bands around it — to attach the drumstick to his right arm.

And that brings us to your life.  I can only play percentages here, but I assume the majority of you weren't permanently scarred by fire when you were two years old.  It's safe to assume that most of you don't get stared at — while walking down the street — everyday of your life.  I'm willing to bet that most of you have fully functioning hands and feet.  And even if you DO have some minor thing "wrong" with you, perhaps, you think you're overweight — you at least have the HOPE of working hard to shed those extra pounds.

Dan doesn't have that option.  Physically, he's pretty much going to stay the same for the rest of his life.  But here's the difference between Dan Caro, and a majority of humans on the planet:

According to Dan, he sees his "disability" as a GIFT from God.  He doesn't make excuses.  He believes that his purpose now — is to inspire others through his story.  And that's exactly what he does.  You'll be able to appreciate his story even more, when you see him on PBS.

Wouldn't TODAY be a great day to Wake Up, and realize that YOU are responsible (via your thoughts, words, and actions) for the quality of your life experience?

To have someone like Dan Caro walking the planet — and still be complaining about your lot in life — is an insult to Dan, and all the other people on the planet who have it much worse than you.

Shout out to my boy Alex Shalman, who posted today's quotation: "The control of self means the control of everything."  (Hazrat Inayat Khan) on Twitter yesterday.  Alex is one of life's "awakened" individuals, and has some powerful info on his website.  Just click HERE.
