How To Find Your Hidden Treasure

The Nice Life Inspirational Quotation:  "When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change."  Dr. Wayne Dyer

About a decade ago, I set out on an amazing journey.  I'll discuss all the intricate details in Book Two, but it was a journey inspired by a desire to fill some kind of void.  In my attempts to fill this void, I tried several artificial substitutes.  They never filled the void for long.  But it wasn't the "substitutes" or attempts to fill the void that were important.  It was the journey — and all the wisdom I gained through the experience — that became so valuable.

It reminds me of one of my favorite books, The Alchemist, in which a boy sets out on a journey to find "treasure", only to go through countless challenging/enlightening experiences, that ultimately lead him to his treasure — in the most ironic of places.  I'll save the ending, in case you wanna read it.

Over the past decade, as I've been on my own "journey in search of treasure", I've gained much wisdom — which has lead me to a place of consistent joy and peace of mind.  This is the "treasure" that I've been searching for, and in my opinion, it's the same thing every other human is searching for.  When you cultivate this level of awareness, you can "find" your treasure everywhere you go!

It reminds me of a particular excerpt from the book The Alchemist:

"In his pursuit of the dream, he was being constantly subjected to tests of his persisitence and courage.  So he could not be hasty, nor impatient.  If he pushed forward impulsively, he would have failed to see the signs and omens left by God along his path."

That's similar to a chapter called "The Process", that will be included in my second book.  Very much like a lump of coal that hopes to become a diamond one day — it has to go through 'the process' of heat, pressure, and the most important element of all ... time.

My point is:  After all my traveling and "searching for treasure", I've discovered that my real treasure lives within.  Combine that with the opportunity to "share your treasure" with the friends and family that mean the most — and your "treasure" is instantly magnified.

And that's exactly what I've been doing for the past week, while visiting my hometown of Dinwiddie, VA.  I reconnected with some great old friends, and realize that my "treasure" has been available the whole time.

I didn't necessarily have to go on some "journey" to discover radio fame, fortune, hot babes, etc.  Sure, I had a lotta great times durning that phase, but ultimately, it was the lessons I learned on the journey that have become most important.

And the main lesson is this:  You don't have to leave where you are, in order to find your "hidden treasure".  The secret is this:  The Treasure you seek, is already located WITHIN.

Or as Jesus pointed out 2000 years ago, The Kingdom of Heaven is within.  Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change.

For example, simply stare at the 4 dots in the image below, for about 30 seconds.  Then, turn to your nearest wall, and start blinking your eyes?  What do you see?

As you move through your journey of life, absorb all the wisdom and "signs" that point you to the next most logical step.  Ultimately, every step on your journey is leading you to this tresaure — this awareness:  The Kingdom of Heaven is already within you.  You need not go anywhere to find it.
