Dollar Tree Shopping Sprees

Why not learn to enjoy the little things — there are so many of them. ~ Anonymous

One of my favorite "little things" is a Dollar Tree Shopping Spree. If you've never been to the Dollar Tree, you'll be delighted to discover that every item is only a dollar! And you never know what you're gonna find.

In fact, once you're inside this magical wonderland of one-dollar items, you'll find things jumping off the shelf into your basket. On a recent road trip, I stopped by the Dollar Tree and found myself in need of the following items:

As you can see, I needed a box of Bazooka Joe bubble gum (complete with a Bazooka Joe comic inside each wrapper), a large box of Nerds, a tube of Colgate toothpaste, a box of four toothbrushes (with a plastic cap for each one) which are perfect for overnight guests, a roll of paper towels, some "back-up" sunglasses (since I always lose or break mine), imitation Armor All, cinnamon mouthwash, shaving cream, body wash, window cleaner, chewy sticks for Neo, index cards, imitation Benadryl, razors, and whatever else is pictured here.

My point is this: I walked into Dollar Tree and was able to find about twenty items for the low price of twenty bucks.

I was preparing for a road/camping trip. But the Dollar Tree offers so many other wonderful items, including: bleach, beer mugs, helium balloons (for birthdays), school supplies, car accessories, cell phone accessories, lotion, hair care products, toys, floral supplies, food, etc.

If Walmart is My Future-Wife , then Dollar Tree is my future baby-momma. I'll be kicking it with both of them — for a long time.

If you've never been inside a Dollar Tree, take a moment to look over their website by clicking HERE.

I recommend that you treat yourself to a Dollar Tree Shopping Spree at least once every two weeks. It's the perfect place for getting necessities — especially for guys — because we're much less high-maintenance than you ladies.   =)

Not to mention, you can save a few dollars, as most of the items are cheaper than Walmart or Target.

Twenty bucks can go a long ways, when it comes to the simplistic joys that can be found in your local Dollar Tree. I expand on these ideas in Chapter 27 "Name Brand Insecurities" of my book Follow The White Rabbit.
